“We have showed that we can play 10 minutes of good football here and there but we need to be able to sustain it for loner,” he said.
“It will be about getting to the football first and reducing turnovers which has been a big problem for us this season.”
Nhill’s only win of the season came against Dimboola in round seven but a 72-point loss to Ararat in round eight brought the club back to earth.
Bone said he knows a Southern Mallee Giants side locked in tight battle for ladder position will be another big test.
“They’re obviously a very good team that is fighting for a spot in the five,” he said.
“We saw them play against Warrack Eagles earlier in the year and it will be a great test for us on our home ground.”
Bone has continued to promote young players into his senior side during the first eight rounds. He said there was potential for more players to make their debuts on Saturday.
“The ones that have been performing well in the under-17s or reserves will continue to get opportunities,” he said.
“We’re trying to develop players with an eye to next season as well as further in the future.
“From a coaching perspective its great to be able to give players those opportunities when they earn them.”
Nick Bone will come out of the side with general soreness while Jesse Moran is a chance to return for Nhill pending a fitness test.
