Saints coach Monica Van Dyk said her team learnt a valuable lesson when they took on Pimpinio in round eight.
“It taught us we need to go into every game thinking we need to play a tough game and that is definitely the case against Harrow,” she said.
“I don’t know much about Harrow-Balmoral this year but I know they always play a tough game and that they have good players that work well together.”
Van Dyk said her team went into the Pimpinio game knowing they were higher on the ladder, and will not make the same mistake against the Southern Roos.
“Although we are third on the ladder, all our games have been really close,” she said.
“We haven’t won any games really clearly, all of our matches have been tight. Although we’re third, I don’t think there is much in it with the teams below us.”
Southern Roos coach Amy Lewis said even though it’s halfway through the season, there were still unknowns surrounding some teams.
“At the end of the day we have taken quite a while to settle into our current team of eight. I imagine it will be a pretty hard and fast first quarter whilst everybody settles into the match,” she said.
Lewis said she was wary of the entire Saints squad.
“You can’t throw the netball to yourself so it will be down to us doing our job and if everyone wins their position we should be okay,” she said.
In other games the Swifts will host league-leaders Laharum, Natimuk United will take on Jeparit-Rainbow, Kalkee will entertain Pimpinio and cellar dwellars Taylors Lake will play Rupanyup.
Noradjuha-Quantong has the bye.
