The Vietnam Veterans members lounge has been renamed as the James McMillan room.
Horsham RSL committee member Jim Amos unveiled the plaque with Private McMillan’s three sisters – Venie Jolley, Joy Taig and Dianne Bolwell – in attendance.
“James was the only Horsham man who was killed in action in the Vietnam War on July 31, 1969,” Mr Amos said.
Born in 1948, Private McMillan was 20 when he died. He was a member of the 5th battalion of the Royal Australian Regiment
“His family was thrilled that he was honoured,” Mr Amos said.
“He was a member of the Horsham community and bank teller before he joined the army.”
