He received the nod after featuring at Dallas’ free agent mini-camp earlier this week.
Creek played for the Utah Jazz during last year’s Summer League but had limited game time.
The forward departed the Adelaide 36ers earlier this month, opting to play for German Bundesliga outfit Würzburg for the 2018-19 season.
Before heading to America for two mini-camps Creek said he was planning on bringing an aggressive style of basketball.
“We know some people over there which will put us in a good position and put us in front of the right coaches,” he said.
“Scouts there will want to see some more aggressiveness from me.”
The Mavericks will play a minimum of five Summer League games from July 6-10 with a Championship Game on July 17.
