The side’s forward line had a day out away from home at Dimboola Recreation Reserve in the 29.20 (194) to 5.2 (32) win.
Warrack Eagles coach Ryan McKenzie said his side got on top in the match early and gave its forward plenty of opportunities.
“We ran the ball well and we had a couple of big forwards who were able to take marks,” he said. “We put the ball into the forward 50 in dangerous areas and then they were clunking marks.”
Dalton Jaensch took a number of contested marks on his way to kicking a bag of six goals while Shannon Argall and Ryan McKenzie each managed four playing predominantly forward.
“Nick Peters led the way through the middle but there were plenty of players contributing through there,” McKenzie said.
The away team had already established a 31-point lead by quarter time and the margin had blown out to 76 points by the main break. Dimboola trailed by 116 points with a quarter to play and then failed to score in the final quarter as Warrack Eagles secure the percentage-boosting win.
McKenzie said it was pleasing to continue to momentum the side gained against the Horsham Saints in the previous round.
“We touched on that throughout the game because we didn’t want to let off,” he said. “We’re also setting ourselves for another big match against the Giants.”
Warrack Eagles Liam Stewart came off the ground in the first quarter with a knee injury. McKenzie said scans would confirm the extent of the damage.
