Shados Inala’s Jack Hannan won the A grade Robinson Medal for the first time amassing 15 votes to defeat Phantoms Nathan Berry on 11.
Volleyball Horsham’s David Berry said that Hannan was consistent all season in his role as both passhitter and middle.
“His game in the grand final underlined this, when he stepped into the middle blocking role after youngster Otto Maroske had to withdraw due to injury, and helped his team to victory,” Berry said.
In B grade Phantom Masters Simon Risson won the Radford Medal on a countback from Phantom Rangers Darcy Wills. Both big hitters polled 12 votes with Risson polling maximum votes in three games compared to Wills in two.
“Simon has been a wonderful acquisition to the competition and loves to hit. His height gives him an added advantage when it comes to blocking and this caught the eyes of referees.”
In C grade Murtoa Railway’s Ronan Garth-Lindsay won his second MVP award taking out the O’Connor Medal on 18 votes, one vote ahead of good mate Blake Turner on 17.
“Ronan played a few “A” grade games throughout the season and this showed in his development. He will be a very good player going forward and we’re looking forward to seeing him step into “B” grade next season.
The Juniors grade Ladlow Medal went to Murtoa Dragons’ Catherine Ioelu who was the stand out player in this grade all season. Ioelu polled in all eight games she played amassing 19 votes well clear of Phantoms Jake Brennan on 11.
“Catherine has certainly developed her game since joining forces with the Murtoa team and we look forward to watching her development in the future.”
