Ben Hobbs, Vic Country into semi-finals of Basketball Australia Under-16 National Championships

HORSHAM’S Ben Hobbs and Vic Country has jumped into the semi-final of the Basketball Australia under-16 boys National Championships. 

Vic Country defeated Queensland South in the quarter-finals 78-56.

The final draw for the semi-final is yet to be released. 

Vic Country won all five of its Pool A games and qualified for the quarter-finals with a perfect record. 

Hobbs played in the first game on July 6 and Vic Country managed a 89-38 win against Queensland North. 

The team continued to dominate proceedings, it defeated the likes of Western Australia Country, NSW Metro and Northern Territory. 

The closest game of the pool campaign came on the final fixture on Tuesday, when Ben Hobbs’ team defeated South Australia Metro 69 to 67. 

Hobbs’ highest  game came against Western Australia Country on July 7, he received an overall of 15 match points with a 100 per cent success rate from a free throw position, six field goals and one three pointer.
