“Both my parents, Phil and Dawn, were affiliated with Quantong and Noradjuha before the merger,” she said.
“I’ve been around the club since I was born. My grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle were all presidents at Quantong. Our blood is definitely red and black.”
The A Grade netballer said 2008 was a special time to be a Noradjuha-Quantong fan.
“My favourite memory would have been the 2008 Horsham District league grand final,” she said.
“I played in the B Grade and coached C Grade, and we won the A, B, C and 17 and under netball and under -14s football that year. It was fantastic for the club and we had everyone crammed into our old small clubrooms.”
Creek has been hit with a setback in her netball career, injuring her anterior cruciate ligament in round six against Harrow-Balmoral. She will have surgery at the end of this year so won’t return until the 2020 season.
“It hurt for a bit but then I just wanted to get back on the court,” she said.
“I didn’t suspect I had done anything too serious. I live and breathe netball so to not be out on the court was hard to come to terms with.
“I hate missing a week let alone a whole season. I coach so I still have something to focus on.”
Creek’s cousins Yolly Molineaux and Georgia Francis both coach the A Grade side with Molineaux joining Creek on the sidelines.
“Yolly is pregnant and isn’t playing either and we sit there every week wishing we could be out there,” Creek said.
“We have been so unlucky this season in terms of availability.”
Creek said throughout her time with the Bombers she has enjoyed playing alongside Brooke Pay.
“I played in defence with Brooke and she is the type of netball everyone aspires to be like,” Creek said.
“She is such a fair and talented player and you watch her in amazement. Every game she is just so consistent and a beautiful player, so I definitely look up to her.”
