The Rams take on a fired up Harrow-Balmoral outfit on Saturday at Balmoral with coach Sam Anson excited by the task.
“There’s still fight there but just injuries have slayed us this year,” he said. “I can’t remember when we’ve had the same team on the park two weeks in a row. We have a few back this week, which will help us out.”
Anson will likely miss the encounter with an injured shoulder.
“We can’t wait for them, they want to knuckle down on top spot and we are fighting for our lives so the hunger is there,” he said.
Southern Roos coach Nick Pekin said there was a positive feeling among his side knowing that if they win their remaining four games they will finish on top of the ladder.
“There’s a lot of belief among the group at the moment,” Pekin said. “We can’t get ahead of ourselves and everyone in the top six will be strong. The Storm beat us and you need to be on your game each week this season.”
The Southern Roos could be boosted by the inclusion of three regular senior players.
“Todd Lawrence, Clint Robinson and James Staude could be back in for us but we don’t want to rush any players in just for the sake of the game,” Pekin said.
Southern Roos assistant coach Hamish Ellis will spend more time on the sidelines after being concussed in his return to the senior side last week, while Peter Staude will miss after also suffering a concussion last week.
“Hamish was fairly groggy so we will give him a couple of weeks to rest, which is a shame after he just made his return to the senior side,” Pekin said.
