The Lakers, who have been hit with injuries for much of the season, were always going to struggle against one of the league’s premiership contenders.
The Lakers managed just two behinds in the first three quarters. In contrast, Kalkee piled on 29.22 (196) and finished the game with a huge score of 37.27 (249) to Taylors Lake’s 2.4 (16).
Kalkee had 11 different players score a goal with Jayden Kuhne bagging 11 goals and Steve Schultz seven majors. Lachie Exell kicked three goals in his return after missing the previous round.
Simon Hobbs continued his solid season and was named second best on ground for the Kees.
Connor Healey and Jake Hinton both kicked one goal each for the Lakers, who were missing senior coach Jye Smith on the ground.
