Stawell Soccer Club became incorporated on Thursday, July 19 , shortly after a group of Stawell residents started thinking of the idea.
The club has already assigned committee positions and is currently in the process of establishing key aspects of the club.
“Currently we have no funding so that is the biggest thing we are working on right now,” inaugural Stawell Soccer Club president Jason Oosthuizen said.
“Things are moving quickly now that we have become Incorporated and have key committee roles filled.
“We will also be working on a team mascot type name for the club as well as looking at ways to register interest in the club.”

Oosthuizen said he has been surprised and excited by the amount of interest that has been shown in the club in recent weeks.
"I honestly didn’t see a reaction like the one we have had coming,” he said.
“It sounds promising that we can have juniors, men’s and women’s teams. It is a big focus for us to get teams up and running for different age groups and genders.”
Oosthuizen said the next step is to recruit volunteers and players of people around town who are interested in joining the club.
“There is a Stawell Soccer Club Facebook page or I am available on 0455 746 642 for anyone who wants to join or help out,” he said.
The club is meeting at Lillies and Lattes at 6pm on Monday evening to discuss what is next for the club.
