Creek will attend a pre-season training camp with the Nets.
He will then have the chance to play for either the Nets or the club’s G League affiliate, Long Island, depending on what contract the Nets offer Creek.
It is believed the contract has a clause allowing the Nets to waive Creek from the NBA team, but still allowing Creek to play in G League.
The move has not yet been confirmed by Mitch Creek or the franchise.
The NBL has reported the contract is understood to be a one year deal at the NBA’s minimum salary. The contract is not yet a two-way contract meaning there is no guarantee Creek will feature in the upcoming NBA season.
Creek would be the Wimmera’s first NBA export should he earn his way onto the playing roster.
The chance for Creek to impress in the NBA comes after a successful NBA Summer League campaign with the Dallas Mavericks.
The move releases Creek from his contract with Bundesliga club Würzburg, who he had signed with for the 2018/19 season after leaving the Adelaide 36ers.
