The group has attended the event for about 30 years.
Member Jenn Stephens said the club was always looking for ways to support others.
“One of the biggest reasons that we love coming to the Speed field days is to support the organisers,” she said.
“We come on Monday and Tuesday to feed the workers, on Wednesday and Thursday we put ourselves out there, and then on the Friday we help with the packing up.
“It’s about goodwill, meeting like-minded people and sharing some of the things that the Lioness group does overall in the community.
“It’s about the countless hours volunteering and good work that is done without a lot of advertising.”
The club has 15 members, who meet monthly, and is the town’s sole surviving services group.
“One of the reasons why we didn’t amalgamate with the Lions Club was because there was a very fierce and determined pride to honour those who came before us,” she said.
“There are four Lioness groups in our region and people drive miles to support one another. A lot of good work is being done.”
She said the event had grown over the years.
“One of the things that is noticeable is that the generations are coming through,” she said.
“What’s amazing is that although people will travel far, there is still this close sense of community.
“Whether it’s the primary schools or the football clubs, everybody is generously giving back to the community.”
