In the absence of chairman, Robin Barrett, the meeting was chaired by Rene Vivian, who welcomed all present, with special congratulations to Kevin Matushka for his Wimmera Mail-Times Legends of Yesterday feature.
The article recognised a lifelong passion in archery at its highest level.
Doris Guest was congratulated on her recent 90th birthday celebrations, whilst secretary John McRoberts was welcomed back after recent foot surgery.
Final plans were put in place for Sunday, August 26, when the group runs its "Parkinson's Walk in the Park" fundraiser, from Weir Park, starting at 11am.
A Walk in the Park is the largest community event dedicated to supporting people with Parkinson's to lead full and active lives.
Come along and join in the spirit of the day.
For a $5 entry fee, you will support fundraising efforts, earning a sausage in bread, fruit juice and a medallion on completion.
Thanks to the generosity of the local business houses who are supporting us with donations of foodstuffs towards the event.
The next meeting will be held on Friday, October 5.
At this meeting an open discussion will take place on developing smaller support groups within our group, to encourage others and just be there when needed.
The December meeting will be held at the Royal Hotel, with members celebrating Christmas.
Guest speaker at the Christmas meeting will be Victor McConvey from Parkinson's Victoria.
