The match-up between the Swifts and Kalkee is shaping up as a telling moment in what has been a riveting season to date.
Swifts are in fourth on 44 points, one spot and one game ahead of Kalkee.
Trailing Kalkee are the Bombers and the Saints – the Bombers are likely to get the points against Taylors Lake at the weekend while the Saints will take four points due to the bye.
That means a loss for the Kees will see them drop to seventh heading into the final round.
However, the Kees beat the Swifts earlier in the season and another victory could potentially result in five teams all being even on 44 points after round 17.
Another interesting match-up sees third place Harrow-Balmoral travel to take on the undefeated Laharum.
Demons co-coach Rebecca McIntyre said her side was relishing the challenge.
“Harrow-Balmoral will be strong finals competitors and have a lot of experience,” she said.
“We are looking forward to the challenge this week. They are a very athletic and versatile team.
“With Ebonie Salter coming in now at full strength they will have a big chance for success at the end of the year.”
With Laharum set to face Taylors Lake in the last round, a win on Saturday could all but secure the minor premiership. The Dees are one game ahead of Natimuk United.
However, a slip up will bring Natimuk United back within a chance to clinch top spot. The Ewes, Storm and Saints all have the bye this weekend.
