Warrack Eagles livewire Charlie Wilson and Horsham Demons premiership player Matt Lloyd were included on a list of 21 Vic Country players that will be tested at a state combine in October.

Greater Western Victoria talent manager Phil Partington said an invite to either the national or state combine was a great opportunity.

“Charlie has really impressed this season and has worked really hard – at the moment he is the leading goalkicker in the TAC Cup,” he said.

“Matt had an interrupted start to the season with his broken foot but has shown a lot of talent in his two seasons with us.

“Going to the combines is certainly a step in the right direction for these guys but it’s important for players to remember they can still get drafted without going to a combine.”

In order to be invited to a state combine at least two AFL clubs must have expressed interest in recruiting a player. 

The Wimmera duo were two of three Rebels players invited to the state combine with 126 players in total invited to take part across the country.

Tom Berry had already been invited to take part in the national combine, which indicates that he is on the radar of at least six AFL clubs.
