First Murra Warra Wind Farm infrastructure to arrive at project site on Monday | Photos
MURRA Warra Wind Farm’s wind turbines are on the move.
Works began on the 429 megawatt farm in March. The embed tower sections for the project will start arriving on site from Portland on Monday.
A total of 61 embeds have been created for the first stage of the farm – 41 were made overseas and 20 were made by Portland-based manufacturers Keppel Prince Engineering. The embeds measure 6.2 metres wide.

While the embeds make their way to to Murra Warra, the trucks carrying them will have right of way from the Dimboola-Minyip Road/Dogwood Road intersection.

Two trucks will carry the embeds each day from Monday until Saturday August 18.
The wind farm is expected to create about 150 construction jobs and 9 operational jobs during the first phase.

The farm will produce about 429 megawatts of power once fully operational and eliminate about 900,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year.
It is expected to be fully operational by next year.
Once completed, the first stage of the farm will supply enough energy to power 220,000 homes.
It will generate about eight permanent jobs for ongoing monitoring and maintenance works.
