The Little Desert Primary School Volleyball Carnival will be held on Friday at the Lutheran School Hall with seven teams entered.
With the winning school progressing to the Greater Western Zone regional finals later in the year, many of the students participating have been training hard.
Volleyball Horsham’s David Berry said that last year Horsham West boys’ and girls’ teams progressed through and they will be looking to repeat that effort this year.
But both Lutheran and Horsham Primary School have been upskilling their students, taking the opportunity to access extra training from Volleyball Horsham members.
“There certainly are some talented students at all schools, some of which play in the Volleyball Horsham domestic competition, which is giving those school teams the much-needed match play that will help them.”

“Volleyball Horsham has been providing school teams with this avenue for many years now, with many progressing through the grades and it helps to keep our competitions strong,” Berry said.
“I can remember seeing players start their volleyball careers at this very competition and then progress through the various pathways to representative and state selection.
“Who knows who might pop up this year?”
Competition commences at 1pm at the Lutheran School Hall with Horsham Primary taking on Lutheran and the two West teams doing battle in the boys’ division. In the girls’ division Horsham West’s A team will front up against Lutheran.
