EIGHT unanswered goals, with the aid of a strong breeze, in the first quarter helped set the win up the 29.19 (193) to 5.3 (33) against Dimboola.
Coach Coleman Schache said he was happy with how his side had gone about it in the win.
“We came away with the points were able to practice a few things we want to do in a couple of weeks,” he said.
“There was just a little bit of tinkering with the game plan based on what we’ve learnt over the past couple of weeks against the good sides.”
After a scoreless first term Dimboola was able to kick 3.1 in the second but it did little to stop the momentum of the Giants as they grew their lead from 53 points to 74 points by the main break.
The Giants added another 12 goals in the third quarter but were then restricted to just three in the final term.
Schache said Clint Burdett was a stand out in the win.
“He played a really good game in the middle,” he said.
“Nicholas O’Farell had a pretty good game up forward to kick seven.”
The side made it through the match unscathed and Scache said he hoped Brock Orval would be able to return to the side for the final round of the season after two weeks off.
“We were happy with all our effort indicators today and it was good to have another match in wet conditions after we couldn’t get the win last week,” he said.
