The Cougars had already secured the minor premiership heading into the contest and had little trouble accounting for Padthaway away from home.
The game started off fairly evenly but Padthaway was wasteful in front of goal in the first term, kicking 1.6 to Kavia-Leeor’s 3.3.
Kaniva-Leeor held a two-goal advantage at half-time but powered on in the second half.
The Cougars, who kicked six goals in the first two quarters, piled on 13 goals in the second half of the game to head towards a commanding 74-point win.
Kaniva-Leeor’s Joel Wagg led the way with seven goals, while playing coach Nick Murphy kicked three.
Murphy had a solid season, finishing second overall in the league’s goal kicking tally and being named playing coach of the Naracoorte Herald’s team of the year. Teammate Liam Vivian also made the team.
