Edenhope-Apsley is coming off a remarkable comeback win that went to extra-time against the Swifts.
Coach Chris Oliver said he wanted his side not to be in a losing position come the fourth quarter this week.
“The boys threw everything on the table when they had to but early on the boys were too reactive and not proactive,” he said.
LAST TIME THEY MET: Saints too strong for depleted Storm side
“This week we want to be the ones making the plays and not waiting for something to happen.”
The Saints could be without Josh Clissold and Clint Rokebrand, who were both reported at the weekend.
“We need to try and do our best to curb disciplinary issues and it has been an issue for us in the past,” Oliver said.
“Hopefully we will learn our lesson and come good this week. We don’t want to be playing finals like that.”
Storm coach Tim Inkster hopes his side can continue its momentum after a close win against the Rams.
“Momentum is pretty important in finals and we have been good in quarters but not good for games,” he said
“Marking is a strength of ours but we had two out for most of the day and blokes adapted pretty well. We need to keep improving and aren’t close to peaking. The upside is we have heaps of improvement, if we want to do it.”
The Storm will likely be without Jakob Cocks and Luke Murphy after the pair were injured on Sunday, while Tom Clugston, who was concussed early in the game, is expected to play.
