NHILL will fight another week in the Under 17s finals series after winning the elimination final against Horsham Saints.
The teams had split the wins in the two matches they played in the home and away season.
But the Tigers came with a point to prove and were never headed at any change as they booked a spot in the semi-finals with a 52 to 31 win.
The match was a fairly even affair for three quarters until the Tigers ran away with it in the fourth, adding 18 points while keeping the Saints to two.
Nhill will now face Stawell in a do-or-die semi-final.
Mitchell Jones was best afield for Nhill, while Sam Breuer was the Saints’ best.
In the 14s, Warrack Eagles posted an emphatic victory against Dimboola.
The Roos beat the Eagles in round 18 to book a place in the finals, but the tables turned dramatically on Sunday.
The Eagles jumped out of the blocks to score 4.2 in the first term, and kept the Roos goal-less for the first half of the match.
Dimboola hit the scoreboard through Harrison Clark in the third term, but the Eagles continued to dominate the contest, going on to win 58 to 7.
Jed Koschitzke kicked six goals to be named the Eagles’ best, while Harper Harradine was the best player for the Roos.
The Eagles will play the Saints in the semi-finals.
