An electronic scoreboard had been a part of the discussions about rejuvenating the Horsham City Oval precinct.
Horsham Demons Football and Netball Club president Geoff Lord said the LED video scoreboard was used for the Wimmera League qualifying finals on Saturday.
“It was first used for the start of the final series and it performed really well,” he said.
“The instant updates of the scores from an occupational health and safety point of view has removed the risk that was previously there. Those live score updates can be done on the run.
“It has the capacity later on for advertising and animations to go on there and for live streaming of video footage.”
Mr Lord said the club was pleased to work in conjunction with Horsham Rural City Council to purchase and install the new feature at the oval.
The $40,000 project was funded by Horsham Rural City Council with contributions from Horsham Demons Football and Netball Club.
