A WAVE of momentum is flowing through Edenhope-Apsley at the moment, and that must continue if the side wants to defeat Laharum in the Horsham District league’s A Grade preliminary final on Saturday.
The two sides will meet at Quantong with Saints coach Monica van Dyk excited for the contest.
“It’s going to be very tough but we are pleased to have made it this far when we weren’t expecting to,” she said.
“We are finally pulling together now. We have the belief but we just have to play the way we have the past two weeks and keep that intensity up the whole time.”
The Saints had a very strong start against Harrow-Balmoral in their semi-final win on Sunday.
Laharum co-coach Caitlin Story said she was wary of the Saints’ shooting power and said a quick start would be vital.
“They came out with nothing to lose and we are expecting the same,” she said.
“Their shooters were on fire and we are hoping our finals experience might give us the edge, especially at the start when everyone is nervous.
“We are going to try and come out with a big start. Watching them on the weekend, that’s what they tried to do too.”
Story said her side would back the game plan that took them through the regular season undefeated.
The side faces the prospect of being eliminated in straight sets for the second season in a row.
“There was a lot of pressure on us last week but hopefully we can take that experience into this weekend and follow our game plan,” she said.
