The Local Government Inspectorate will next week review the council to ensure its governance arrangements meet community expectations and legislation.
Inspectorate staff will consult councillors and council staff during the work.
Chief municipal inspector David Wolf said governance examinations were conducted regularly at councils across the state.
“They are designed to assess governance requirements and ensure operating procedures are compliant with relevant legislation,” he said.
Mr Wolf said analysis and a report would follow the inspectorate’s review, and findings would be released to the community.
