Knight polled 26 votes to win ahead of Noradjuha-Quantong’s Lucy King and Pimpinio’s Lana Ellis on 21 votes.
She said a number of factors allowed her to have a strong season.
“Harrow-Balmoral is just a a great club to be a part of and we’ve had a lot of success together over the years,” she said.
“It’s a team effort – everyone gets together and it’s all about the enjoyment.
“That’s why I go out there because is you’re having fun being successful is just an added benefit.”
Strong junior number coming through the club meant that Knight was happy to step aside to play more B Grade during 2018.
She said it was rewarding to watch the younger players continue to develop.
“I’m at the other end of my career so it was good to come down and play with B Grade,” she said.
“When you’re younger you want to play the best and you think you’re missing out by playing down a bit further and it’s great to see those kids coming through.
“They’ll ask for advice and I’ll give it – if they take it it is up to them but if they don’t that’s okay as well.”
The Southern Roos finished the regular season in fourth and were knocked out in the first week of finals by Edenhope-Apsley.
“It was all about teamwork for us,” Knight said.
“We were a very even team of contributors but we had a lot of changes throughout the season.
“We had a lot of player coming in and out because of injuries, pregnancies and all that but we stuck together.”
