But one medal is still lacking from her cabinet – a senior netball premiership.
“I think it’s our time for it to come; you go through the highs and the lows and just hope your team comes through,” Story said. “Most of us are from the 2015 grand final loss. I think we have had that shared drive since then.”
Story started playing for Horsham United as a junior and claimed a premiership in the 15 and under competition.
“I was at Horsham United for about eight years and left when it merged,” Story said.
“The Iredell twins took me out to Laharum and I’ve been there the past five years. I didn’t know what it would be like going from a Wimmera team to a Horsham District team, but I haven’t seen much of a difference.”
Story has played in two other losing grand finals.
“A senior premiership would mean a lot,” she said.
“That’s all I want in sport. I’ve won a lot of things but a senior premiership is what’s missing. The club hasn’t won an A Grade premiership in the Horsham District league either, so a bit of history would be nice.
“They’ve been in a lot of finals but always lost.”
Story said the grand final match-up between her side and Natimuk United would be a great one to watch.
“We are all really excited. We match up so evenly with Natimuk United. It’s the best two teams of the year,” she said.
“Hopefully we can put on a show like we did a couple weeks ago.”
