The announcement was made at the end of the club’s presentation night on Wednesday where Tyson Harris won the best and fairest award for a second straight season.

Wimmera Regional Sports Assembly Access All Abilities manager Nic Baird said Des and Ayden would bring a lot of knowledge to the role.

“Having a coach locked in so early for next season after not having one this season is a really great thing,” he said.

“Des has coached plenty of football and Ayden has coached junior teams in the past as well as being a player himself.

“Hopefully they’ll bring some new ideas and be able to add to the learning of the players.”

Rachael Werner won the netball best and fairest award ahead of joint runners-up Andrew Sorenson and Bianca Lauricella.

The coach’s award was presented to Maree Crouch.

Matt and Karen Hudson received the club person of the year award due to their willingness to help out at every training session and game.

Harris won the football best and fairest award ahead of first year  player Steve Barham and Matt Anderson was third.

Lachie Young was the side’s leading goalkicker and the coach’s award went to Merryn Baxter.

Baird said the night was a great opportunity to thank sponsors for their support during the season.

“It was a good night to showcase what the season had been all about,” he said.
