The Lakers rose to the occasion to beat Swifts 62 to 32.
Swifts finished the season as minor premiers and started the match as favourites, after beating the Lakers in a semi-final two weeks ago.
Swifts got the upper hand in the match early, dominating the first quarter to take a 10-0 lead into the first break.
But the Lakers came out firing in the second quarter, kicking three consecutive goals and keeping Swifts goal-less to take the lead and the ascendancy in the match.
They went into the half-time break up 20-10.
The third quarter was back on even terms.
The Lakers struck first with an early goal before the Swifts hit back with two in a row.

At the final change it was Taylors Lake ahead by four points.
The Lakers hit the scoreboard within a minute of play starting in the fourth quarter to increase their lead.
Then the match took a sad turn when a Swifts player went down in the Lakers’ forward 50 after a heavy tackle.
Trainers ran to his aid and stabilised him before stretchering him off.
Play resumed with about 13 minutes gone in the quarter, and the Lakers picked up where they left off to bag a quick goal to put the match result beyond doubt.
The best on ground medal went to William Taylor from Taylors Lake.
