It was a constant lead for the Kees who took out at the premiership in a close contest. The final scoreboard read 25 to 20.
Kalkee coach Bek Harvey said the girls played “their hearts out” and the game was amazing to watch.
“It was a surreal experience. I didn’t know that we would make it this far,” she said.
The Lakers were chasing the Kees throughout the game. The first and second quarter had the Lakers down by three-goals. The Lakers closed the gap further at three-quarter time, 16-15.
Harvey said the close scoreline was nerve-wracking, but her side managed to keep the nerves at bay to come out with a win.
“They just wanted it a little bit more in the end. They gave it a little bit extra in the last quarter and their defensive pressure just seemed to rattle Taylors Lake,” she said. “The Lakers girls played an amazing game.”
