The mother-daughter duo played the entire season together in the goal ring and were ecstatic to come out on top. Tahlia also finished the season with a 13 and under premiership under her belt.
The Thompson’s also shone at the Horsham District League vote count where Maree claimed top honours as the C Reserve best and fairest while Tahlia was named the 13 and under best and fairest winner.
Maree said she had an amazing year playing alongside her daughter and a great team.
“I am very proud as a mother for all of her achievements. I am sure she will go a long way with netball in the future. I am at the other end, I’ll try and play another season,” she said.
“We have had an amazing year and we had a really good team, which I need to thank as well."
Maree played the roles of mother, team mate and coach this season. The pair played goal-shooter and goal-attack.
“It often did sound like I was always yelling at her, but I was just directing her on where she needed to be,’ she said.
Tahlia said she “absolutely loved” playing in the goal ring with her mother.
“It is the best thing I could have asked for,” she said.
“I am so lucky that she’s my mum because she gave me all her skill.”
