She said she was very excited by the recognition.
“It’s a big surprise and you don’t volunteer for any of this but you do it because you love it and because you love the club,” she said.
“The players and people give so much more to me than I could ever give to them. I do love it and I do live and breathe the netball in particular. I’m overwhelmed.”
Ms Taylor spends most of her time on the netball side of things at the Saints.
“I’m a very vocal supporter and sit by the court from the first game until the last,” she said.
“I support all the girls and then do whatever needs to be done in the background to make sure the games go ahead as planned.”
Saturday’s grand finals at Warracknabeal’s Anzac Park will be a busy one for Taylor – all of the senior Saints netball sides made grand finals.
“It’s really exciting – we have our reserves football and 13 and under netball too,” she said.
“Back-to-back premierships are on the line for the A Grade side and a couple years ago when I took on this role, no one would have dreamt that.
“The steps we have taken have been huge and that is thanks to the amazing coaches and beautifully talented young netballers we have.”
Ms Taylor said she had a big support team behind her.
“I have an amazing support group behind me,” she said.
“Janelle Payne is outstanding, Josh Burgess has helped in the junior side of things, Lisa Sordello is the number one supporter of Saints, the president Mick Morris – the whole football and netball club is great.
“There are too many to mention.”
