The Demons finished with 729 points.
Club chairman Geoff Lord said it was a great honour to accept the award on behalf of the club.
“What a great season 2018 has been for all of the teams and leagues, and we are very pleased to have received the award,” he said.
“It’s magnificent and the award is reflective of the whole club. We have some terrific people and some fantastic teams. The volunteers for our club are unbelievable.
“Like all clubs, there are one or two in paid positions, but most give up their time.”
Horsham has every one of its netball teams playing in grand finals on Saturday at Warracknabeal.
It also has its senior side playing in the decider against the Southern Mallee Giants and its under-14s playing in a grand final against Ararat.
“We are a fantastic recipe for grassroots football and netball and we grow them, just like we grow everything else in the Wimmera,” Mr Lord said.
From a senior football side of things, Mr Lord said it was a fantastic effort to get back into the grand final after losing a host of players before the season.
“People will know about a third of our team disappeared on us, probably for good career changes and a taste for other leagues,” he said.
“Our fantastic coach Deek Roberts has been able to draw the team together. It’s the same in the netball, but when we are talking football, that side has some depth.
“We grow teams from under-12s and right through to the seniors and we put a lot of effort into our juniors and our families.”
