It has been Jones’ second consecutive year playing for the club’s A grade side after making a move from Ballarat early last year.
A little bit of trickery helped Demons claim its new shining star.
“A friend told me to come along to a training. I thought it was just training, but they tricked me and turns out it was a try-out,” she said.
I’ve loved the club ever since that first training. They accepted me right from the word go.

Jones did not expect to play back-to-back years on the A grade side, but was honoured for the opportunity.
“I didn’t expect to play. I was unaware of the standard – but I knew Horsham has been successful in the past and they have some top notch players,” she said.
“I was more than happy to come and play at the club rather than drive back to Ballarat to play like I had originally planned.”
Despite her newcomer status, Jones said she has felt like she has slotted in to the team from the very beginning.
“I’ve loved the club ever since that first training. They accepted me right from the word go,” she said.
“I have met some incredible friend and I certainly would not consider going to any other club in this area. They have been nothing but kind and welcoming.”
The mid-court player hopes she could help the Demons to premiership glory on Saturday.
