Ross finished second in Wednesday night’s count with 175 votes, with Jack Steven winning an historic fourth Trevor Baker Award with 191 votes.
Jack Steele finished third on 134 votes, with Jade Gresham (126) and captain Jarryn Geary (118) rounding out the top five.
Ross won his first Trevor Baker Award last season after a standout year.
It was another solid individual season for Ross in a team that failed to live up to its pre-season expectations.
Ross was also awarded the captaincy for a home and away AFL season game for the first time in his career.
