The Demons looked to be in control in the first half and were all over the Saints.
At quarter-time, the minor premiers had a seven-goal lead, 11-4. They started to push out the margin further at the start of the second quarter, before a sickening knee injury to Demon Kirsten Roll stopped play for about five minutes before she was stretchered off.
The Saints pegged a few goals back when play resumed and rallied late in the quarter, but at the main break it was still Horsham in control, 18-13.
The Demons pushed the margin out again after half-time, but then the tide turned significantly.
The Saints dutifully worked to chop the margin little by little, and late in the quarter they trailed by two.

It was the same margin they would take into three-quarter-time, along with a lot of the match’s momentum.
Again it was the Demons who fired early after the break, getting the margin out to four points.
But the Saints worked to cut it back to two, and from there is was a colossal tussle to the finish.
The Saints drew level in the late stages of the match, but a final goal to the Demons before the buzzer saw them clinch victory 30-29.
Horsham coach Alexandra Neale said her side had not played without Roll all year, as they had to for most of the grand final.
"For her to go down like she did and for us to pick it back up and do it for her is a real credit," she said.
"It's not nice to see one of your girls go down like that."
Neale credited the Saints for a great tussle.
"You've been a wonderful team all year and you came back at us. Thank you for pushing us to our limits," she said.
