The Giants moved into the league at the start of the season from the Horsham District league and made an immediate impact.
Schache said his side started with the kind of intent and football style that he wanted his side to bring to the contest on Saturday at Warracknabeal.
“We had good intent and good pressure in the first half and that was how we wanted to play,” he said.
“It was about a two-goal breeze and both teams used it at different times.
“It was credit to Horsham and they used the ball really well in the second half and we couldn’t keep up with them. Sam Weddell and Sam White were really good for us and have been all season rebounding off back. We also used Josh Webster at both ends of the ground and have done that at different stages of the season.”

Schache said the Giants struggled to keep up with Horsham in the second half.
“We just didn’t get our hands to the ball enough in that third quarter and going against the wind Horsham made the most of it and were able to score against it,” he said.
“They kicked some early goals in the final term and we just couldn’t get back into it.”
Schache said the Giants and the Demons have had some good battles. The head-to-head after this season sits at 2-2.
“It is disappointing to just fall short but the boys worked hard all year and deserved a crack at it today and they are disappointed,” he said.
“We’ve had some good games against them and hopefully we can have a good pre-season, retain players and get another crack.”
