The Burras’ netball director Laura Delahunty said Langley brought a positive energy to the club in her first season this year.
“She was very keen to step up next year in her second season at the club,” Delahunty said.
“She is a very good leader and has an amazing netball brain. She is a very good umpire as well so she really understands the game.
“She is looking to bring something different to us next season. She wants to change things up a bit. She is very passionate about teams and the club in general. She wants to have an impact at the whole club.”
Langley has had experience coaching junior and lower level senior teams.
Langley said she was excited for the opportunity.
“When the chance came up for A Grade I was really keen,” she said.
“We want to retain the talent that we have. Unfortunately we had some injuries that hampered us across all three grades this season.
“We want to consolidate what we have and recruit in a few positions. We want to be working with our juniors as well for when they step up.”
Delahunty said Drum had done a great job across the past couple of seasons.
“Claire has stepped down for personal reasons and wants to spend more time with her family,” she said.
“She has done an incredible job and has been with us for three years. It’s just time for someone new to step in. Claire will still be around just not in a coaching capacity.
“We did have a successful year so we are in a pretty good spot at the moment and hopefully Alice can continue that success for us and get us to the big one.”
