Councillor David Grimble said the projects relied on federal government support, as well as, significant contributions for the council, in order to be successful.

Councillor John Robinson said it was important that the council had looked beyond Horsham when submitting projects for consideration.
“As the drought and frost bites, we are going to go through some difficult times for our rural areas. Three of the projects are in rural communities and it’s important to focus on them,” he said.
Councillor Les Power said the projects submitted to the federal government’s grant program would produce facilities that could be used by multiple sporting groups.
