Fight MND's Bec Daniher said MND has touched many people in the region and the Daniher Drive was about raising awareness and money to help find an effective treatment and cure.
“We hope to spread the word out more to rally the community around those people and families affected by the disease,” she said.
The rolling roadshow is stopping in Stawell and Horsham on Thursday. The convoy will arrive in Stawell at 3.30pm for their “own version of the Stawell Gift” on Main Street. The group will arrive in Horsham at 5.15pm for a dinner at the Horsham Town Hall for 7pm.
On Friday, they will travel to Nhill for a community event at the football club for 10am and will then stop at the Apsley Hotel for noon.
Ms Daniher said the fundraiser reached new towns each year to help spread the word about MND.
She said more information about the events can be found at fightmnd.org.au.
Members of the Daniher family, including Neale and current Essendon star Joe will be part of the convoy along with former AFL footballers including David Neitz, Brad Green and Russel Robertson.
Stawell business owner Ian Pappin said he would love to see the whole town embrace the occasion.
Mr Pappin and his wife Denise have been one of many people in Stawell helping to organise the event.
“There will be donation tins around as well as raffles on offer so it would be great for people to give generously to a great cause,” he said.
