Horsham Mayor Pam Clarke said the report showed that the council was financially responsible.
“We have very good reserves and a good process that differs from other councils,” she said. “The dollar of depreciation from all our vehicles goes into a trust, which allows us to buy all our large machinery such as trucks and graters.

“The council has the cash there and a lot of other councils have to borrow that huge infrastructure.”
Cr Clarke said overseeing the financial position of the organisation was an important aspect of the council. She said the staff have demonstrated a willingness to adopt the auditor’s recommendations each year.
