Coughlin Park 1 won all four rinks in a 43-shot win against Nhill 1. Kevin Cramer, Geoff Bald, Arch Besselaar and Grant Kemp (s) started the season with a 17-shot victory.

Horsham City 1 also had a big win against Horsham City 2, and only three shots separated Kaniva 1 and Dimboola 1 in a close battle which saw Kaniva come out on top. Skippers Jeff Meyer and Col Maddern had good wins for Kaniva and Geoff Gazelle and Alan Krahe did the same for Dimboola.
Horsham Golf 1 began on their new green against Sunnyside 1. Sunnyside managed a 20-shot win, with each side winning two rinks.
In Division 2 Edenhope 1 had a 32-shot win despite each side winning two rinks. Gerry McDonnell, Brodyn Smith, Alan O’Bryan and Hugh Caldow (s) led the way with a 35-7 victory.
Coughlin Park 2 got up by 16 shots against Horsham City 3. Anthony Woodhead, Chris Oliver and Rohan Hawkins all led their rinks to wins for Coughlin Park.
Sunnyside 2 defeated Sunnyside 3 by 10 shots with the rinks of Gavin Watson and Barry Gross both having good wins.
Glenis Mitchell, Taffy Williams, Barry Crick and Polly Robinson (s) won 41-14 to be the stars of Goroke’s 21-shot win over Nhill 2.
The only close game in Division 3 was Coughlin Park 4’s four-shot win over Kaniva 2. John Brooks, Wayne Jolley, Richard Stephens and Dennis Miller (s) won by 14 shots to offset the loss of the other two rinks.
Dimboola 2, Nhill 4, Sunnyside 3 and Coughlin Park 3 all had good wins.
In round 3 of Midweek Pennant Dimboola inflicted the first loss of the season on Nhill by 24 shots. Lola Croser, Margaret Argall, Lois Gaulke and Bev Gazelle (s) won by 26 shots.
Horsham City 1 had a 21-shot win over Kaniva and Sunnyside 1 defeated Coughlin Park 1 by 17 shots to remain undefeated.
In Division 2 Sunnyside 2 had a two-shot victory over Goroke. Serviceton and Horsham City 2 both had good wins to retain their spots at the top of the ladder.
