Association president Cathie Weidemann said a summer competition had never been run before.
“We will have three divisions and it will be run on Fridays from 4.15pm to 5pm,” she said.
“It will be open to boys and girls and it’s something we haven’t done before. We have had a new committee this year and we thought we would try a social summer competition to keep children engaged in the sport.”
Registration can be done online via the MyNetball website and costs $20 for each person for the season.
“We wanted to keep the cost down and just let them play – there is no uniform and it’s about giving everyone access to the sport,” Weidemann said.
“We also have Rock Up Netball for 12-17 year olds on Fridays and that is free.”
The social competition kicks off this Friday.
