A new committee came in July and a successful come and try day was held last week.
Committee member Amy Stasinowsky said there was plenty of excitement for the upcoming season.
“We had the most children we have had at a come and try day for at least five years, which was fantastic,” she said.
“We haven’t made any significant program or event changes but we have a new committee and there are a lot of different ideas being thrown around.”
Stasinowsky said numbers were looking good ahead of the season proper.
“Under-6 is the first group you can start in, and in the boys we have 18 new children and about 12 in the girls,” she said.
“When you consider that’s about 30 children coming in that have never done Little Athletics before, that is pretty significant.”
The season runs in term four and then in term one of next year.
The club will hold an open day on November 11.
“That used to be called the Kannamaroo Gift and will be open to everyone – people from other clubs can come up and compete,” Stasinowsky said.
“That is our major event for the season.”
Horsham Little Athletics Club kicks off its season on Wednesday at Dudley Cornell at 5.15pm.
