While in Stawell, Robins will take part in a series of community events which will provide locals with the opportunity to get up close with the 18-carat gold trophy.
This will include engaging with local school children at a special event at Stawell Racecourse.
During the event, students will have the opportunity to get up close with the $200,000 trophy and interact with 2015 Melbourne Cup winner Prince of Penzance.
Victoria Racing Club chief executive Neil Wilson said he is delighted to have Robins involved in this year’s Tour.
“Mick Robins is an iconic figure in Australian racing and the Stawell community can look forward to him sharing his unique Melbourne Cup stories while on Tour,” he said.
Stawell will host the tour of the trophy on Wednesday, October 24.
