Action Auction owner Garry Floyd – who will host the auction on October 27 – said it was Mr Jenkins’ wish that the auction proceeds would go to the health service.
“It was very generous of him – it will be a great donation,” he said.
“I’m only predicting, but I think the auction should make $30,000 to $40,000 quite easily.
“We had a look at block of land in Horsham to host the auction, but it wasn't suitable. So we decided we needed to bring all the items to my auction room in Bendigo.”
Mr Jenkins died in November last year.
Mr Floyd said there were many sought-after items among Mr Jenkins’ collection, including chainsaws, small bulldozers, stationary motors, and a large quantity of tools and books.
“There's an old David Brown tractor with all new tyres; quite a few stationary motors including a Southern Cross, Lister, Ronaldson-Tippet, Massey Harris and Sunshine; about 150 collectible chainsaws; oil cans; two lathes – including a large German one; iron wheels; and lots of other things,” he said.
The auction will run at 14-24 Jewel Court, East Bendigo at 10am.
Gates open at 8.30am.
There will be a viewing the day before between 10am and 5pm.
