After two away games to start the season, Telangatuk East’s Peter Rogers said it was a great occasion for the community.
“It’s exciting to get pennant down to Telangatuk – we’re looking forward to hosting Drung South down on our own courts,” Rogers said. “It could be a special day.”
Both sides will be looking for their first wins of the season after two losses in the opening rounds, and will be determined to not be the only pennant side left winless.

Telangatuk East will be boosted by the return of Kayla Hawkins, their number one woman, who is yet to play this season.
“She’ll help strengthen our women. Hopefully we’ll be a bit stronger than we have been the last few weeks,” he said. “Our women are pretty consistent so they’ll have a good hit against Drung South.”
Still yet to return is Telangatuk East’s number one male from last season, Matthew Jones, who is away for at least a couple more rounds with school commitments.
“If we could get him back it would make a huge difference,” Rogers said. “Hopefully he'll be back in a few weeks when school finishes, we might get a few games out of him.”

The step up into the pennant division has been tough for Telangatuk East, but Rogers said the team has enjoyed the challenge thus far.
“We're enjoying the tennis. We've got a fit young team, except for a couple of us, and it's good experience for them. It's certainly going to make their tennis better,” he said.
“We had a good hit out against Haven the first week, even against Lawn last week it was quite competitive, but we just weren't good enough to get over the line.”
The first ever Telangatuk East pennant win might be difficult to come by this week against one of the competitions heavy-weights.
Despite losing their opening two games, Rogers expected Drung South to soon recapture the form that saw them finish runners-up last season, and expects a tough match on Saturday.
“They’re still one of the benchmarks of the competition,” Rogers said.
“It’ll be a tough day for us, but we’ll give our best and try to be competitive.”
In other fixtures, Horsham Lawn will look to remain at the top of the table when they play third placed Haven.
St Michael’s will also look to stay undefeated against Kalkee, who will be trying to bounce back after a close loss last week.
