The man and woman appeared in Ararat Magistrates’ Court on Monday charged with multiple offences, including theft of a motor vehicle, theft of number plates and bail offences.
Sergeant Mick Salter said the pair were allegedly involved in a petrol drive-off on Saturday night.
“The pair were involved in a drive-off from a Caltex petrol station in Nhill. The attendant got the registration and Horsham police intercepted the vehicle as it was coming into Horsham,” he said.
“They were taken to Horsham Police Station where they were interviewed in relation to the stolen vehicle. They were remanded and appeared at court on Monday.”
