Although the Horsham Town Hall Redevelopment fundraising campaign ended on June 30, the fundraising campaign will continue until the $1-million target is reached.
The council passed a motion at its October meeting to recognise the funds that were raised through the campaign.
In his report to the council, community wellbeing director Kevin O’Brien said $814,025 had been raised when the campaign ended.

It cost $19.8 million for the hall to reach its current state, with the council contributing $7.1 million to the project.
The federal government contributed $5 million, while the state government also contributed $5 million.
Money was also made available through the Local Government Infrastructure Fund ($1 million), Local Infrastructure Improvement Fund ($500,000), and the Geoff and Helen Handbury Foundation donated $600,000.
“We tossed up the idea in the past to but a ticket levy to make up the difference of fundraising.”
The council’s infrastructure director John Martin said the fundraising campaign would be ongoing.
“There are still some areas available for sponsorship and great opportunities available for people to support the campaign,” he said.
Horsham Mayor Mark Radford encouraged the community to continue to support the redevelopment.
“It has been a great success for Horsham and is doing better than we ever expected. It was a long process to get off the ground. The project started in 2006 and it officially opened in 2016,” he said.
“It is important for the community to realise that there are still opportunities to support this project. I believe it would be good to reach the target and say that we haven’t given up.
