Students took part in a range of outdoor learning activities which encouraged them to be active and use their science, technology, engineering and maths skills.
Prep teacher Carly Nevill said she school had participated in Outdoor Classroom Day the last few years.
“We try to encourage the students to get outside and learn more,” she said.
“It was a really big push to explore learning outside the four walls of a classroom – and the kids love it.
“We use the outdoor environment in our maths classes, looking at lengths and equations, in literacy when they write about the natural environment, and in science. Nature provides a canvas for all of our work.”
Students in Years 5 and 6 paired up with their Prep buddies for the day of activities.
More than 1500 Australian schools and early learning centres participated in Outdoor Classroom Day this year.
